Family Christmas Eve Service

Join us on December 24th at 5:00 p.m. in the Worship Center as we rediscover the wonder of Christmas with music from the Children's Choir, a children's story, and a brief message from Pastor Dee and Marc, ending with the lighting of candles. Kim and Ryan Johnson will return to lead us in singing Christmas songs.

Annual Sunday Brunch and

Combined Service

On Sunday, December 28th, we will fellowship around tables for brunch and our worship service.  You won’t want to miss Frank Morgan’s delicious breakfast casserole!  We’ll meet together for one combined service at 10:15 a.m. in the Family Life Center.  There will not be any children, teen, or adult Sunday School classes meeting this morning.

Church-wide Announcements

The Beresford Organ Project

Great news! A private donor offered to match any giving towards the purchase of the new organ in the Ellipse Chapel, which will be in honor of Willo May Beresford.  We are only $6,100 away from completing this memorial gift to honor the great life and service of someone we love and miss dearly.  Checks given should include “Organ Memorial Fund” in the memo, and thanks to everyone who has already contributed!

CPR: Contemplative Prayer Retreat

Would you like to get away and spend time with God at the beginning of the new year?  We are providing an opportunity for those who would like to spend time reading scripture and praying in solitude and with a group.  On Saturday, January 10th, we will have a day retreat at Pine Valley from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.  Carpooling will be available.  Cost for the entire day is $20 which includes lunch.  Please contact Lou Ann Martin or circle 'P ' if you would like to attend.

ReAdventing Christmas

Before Christmas comes and goes, take some time to think about how you will intentionally serve God and serve others this Christmas.

Consider these Options...

·       Heifer International - Donate an animal to help struggling families lift themselves out of poverty.  (www.heifer.org)

·    Healing Waters - Give the gift of safe drinking water and help to pull more than a billion people out of poverty.  (www.healingwatersinternational.org)

·       Loaves and Fishes - Contribute to the food pantry in Ocean Beach and feed the local hungry.

·       CoCal Gracias - Provide education and opportunity to those living in Honduras. (www.cocalgracias.org)

·       Mid-City Church - Sponsor a family and meet some of their needs this season.

·       Floresta - Purchase sustainable gifts through an organization that combats poverty and deforestation.  (www.floresta.org)

Tithes & Offerings

We believe that one of the ways in which we worship is through giving.  We believe giving is both an expression of love and a spiritual discipline.  We pray that God takes our offerings, blends them with His resources and helps us accomplish more than we ever could on our own.  As a church we are accountable for the resources entrusted to us, and we regularly report on how those resources are being used.  Below is a chart that shows how we are doing this month in meeting the opportunities for ministry, outreach, missions and growth that we have in our community and around the world.
